Reducing the negative impacts of flooding in Vietnam
With its long coastlines, Vietnam is especially prone to flooding, as the sea levels continue to rise due to the increasing temperatures and melting ice sheets as the climate changes. Each year, flooding kills hundreds of people and leaves thousands evacuated in Vietnam. As the climate continue to change, Vietnam is particularly vulnerable to flooding.
The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) facilitates innovative projects in climate change in low-income countries. With grants from the Nordic Climate Facility programme, we are working closely with local partners and local disaster management agencies to bring awareness to our innovative flood prevention system with the objective of implementing the system as a part of their flood response. Thereby significantly reducing the enormous impact flooding has on the Vietnamese society.
